FDTech at the Makers United
With CADA at the Makers United event week in Chemnitz.
Monday - Hackathon
The first event on Monday was the Mini Hackathon. Here, small groups could compete to code and find solutions to problems for a prize money of 500 €.
Tuesday - Workshop
Tuesday continued with exciting presentations on software development for automated driving by FD Tech, Intenta and Baselabs followed by a hands-on workshop on programming simple robots such as Arduinos.
The presentations were extremely interesting and one could take away a lot of knowledge. Also the robot station was very fun, because even with little experience in the field, it was easy and intuitive to program the robots so that they can drive in all possible directions and react to different situations.
Thursday to Friday - beam!
From Thursday to Friday, more than 250 students from 4th to 10th grade had the chance to gain first insights into the world of programming at our booth at "beam!" in the city center.
Saturday and Sunday - Maker Faire
On the weekend, all visitors could then learn from us how to program simple learning robots and Lego robots. Many other companies also put their projects on display and visitors didn't let the rain get in the way of trying out and making a wide variety of things themselves. From robots of all kinds to boats to hands-on stations for making stickers, there was something for everyone.
At the same time, there was live music on various stages and many different treats to eat.
We were surprised by the diverse offerings and exhibitors and were able to take away quite a bit. Especially the hands-on stations were a great pleasure for us, since you usually don't get to try out so many things in everyday life.
In conclusion, we can definitely say that the Makers United event week was a complete success with about 5,500 visitors and numerous activities!
