From Track to Tech: FDTech Powers Up the 25th SPORT Chemmy Celebration
This past weekend, Chemnitz once again celebrated athletic excellence at the SPORT Chemmy 2025. And this year marked a special milestone: the 25th edition of this prestigious award, and the fourth time it took place in the iconic KRAFTVERKEHR - Event- und Kongresskultur venue.
This gala event honors the city’s top athletes, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognized. It reflects the strong sporting spirit rooted in our region. Since its founding in 1998 by world champions Michael Hübner, Thomas Schönlebe, Jens Carlowitz and director Steffen Trautzsch, the Chemmy has become a symbol of excellence, history, and community.
The award itself – the "Chemmy" statue – designed by artist Ralph Siebenborn, is a tribute to the industrial heritage of Chemnitz.
