Urban Mobility as a Complete Experience: FDTech at the 29th Automotive Forum Zwickau

We were delighted to once again participate in the 29th Automotive Forum Zwickau (AFZ), this year right on the opening day, where our RoboBus was presented as one of the featured exhibits. The vehicle illustrates how we at FDTech, together with staff-eye GmbH as our partner within the CADA – Chemnitz Automated Driving Alliance, are redefining what urban mobility can be: a dynamic and interactive space, a cultural and service platform, and far more than just a means of transportation.
Our Vision: Mobility as a Holistic Experience
For us, mobility is an ecosystem—one that connects people, places, and ideas. The RoboBus showcases how technology, design, and urban life can flow together into an autonomous, sustainable, and truly human-centered mobility concept.
An Event Marked by Optimism and Forward Thinking
The forum itself was shaped by inspiring perspectives and a tangible sense of momentum. Contributions from Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and Prof. Thomas Edig (Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH) highlighted what defines our region: pride in what has been achieved, a clear view of what lies ahead, and the determination to shape the future proactively. Their messages underscored an idea we strongly share: transformation is not disruption—it is the natural next step in our shared evolution.
Shaping the Future Together
In this spirit, we at FDTech are actively building that future with our partners. staff-eye serves as the integrator of overarching application scenarios, while FDTech drives the development of automated driving technologies. Together, we are laying the foundation for a new kind of urban mobility—flexible, seamlessly connected, and culturally relevant.
We were also pleased to see a contribution from Prof. Dr. Holger Naduschewski (Volkswagen Bildungsinstitut / VWBI), with whom we share a longstanding and trusted collaboration. From joint efforts during Volkswagen’s transformation toward electromobility in Zwickau to expert events on autonomous driving topics, our cooperation consistently focuses on moving both people and technology forward.
Honoring Dedication to the Automotive Region
A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the August Horch Honorary Award to Dr. Jens Trepte (imk Health Intelligence) in recognition of his exceptional commitment to Saxony’s automotive region. Our warmest congratulations go to him.
A Shared Space for Insight and Innovation
Our sincere thanks to AMZ – Netzwerk Automobilzulieferer Sachsen for creating such an inspiring platform—one that encourages exchange, new perspectives, and collective visions for the future.
We are convinced: the mobility of tomorrow is not being invented elsewhere. It is taking shape right here in Saxony.
