How FDTech Entered 2026: Resilience, Global Partnerships, and a Clear Mission

Every year begins with plans. Some begin with reality. At FDTech, 2026 opened with a reminder of what truly drives progress in our industry: not perfect conditions, but the ability to move forward when conditions are anything but perfect. When complexity rises, when systems are under pressure, when speed and clarity suddenly matter more than ever. That is where technology becomes real.

Turning Challenges Into Momentum

For us, this is not an exception. It is our operating mode. A water incident affected our Chemnitz offices right at the beginning of the year. What followed was not disruption, but momentum: teams regrouped, workspaces and systems were re-established, and within a very short time the focus was back where it belongs — on building technology that moves the industry forward. Fast, precise, solution-driven.

Expanding Our Global Reach

At the same time, we are pushing far beyond the day-to-day. Our colleague Marcel Ott, together with our partners from staff-eye GmbH, was recently on site at PIX Moving in China — a leading technology provider for Automated Driving platforms in Asia. We are in deep technical exchange on how these AD systems can be adapted for Europe: not only in terms of architecture and concepts, but through our core strengths in software, algorithms and the Highly Automated Driving stack, while navigating regulatory frameworks, validation processes and complex toolchains.

Our Path Forward in 2026

This is exactly where 2026 will take us. We will scale what already works. We will industrialize how automated driving is developed, tested, and brought to the road. And we will do it with courage and with impressive execution.

A key enabler of this journey is FDIntelliFlow: our solution to connect processes, toolchains, data, and validation into one coherent development flow for highly automated driving. Concrete projects and applications will follow very soon.

New partnerships. New markets. New systems. One clear goal: making autonomous driving tangible.

Follow along as we turn ambition into real-world progress throughout 2026.

INTENTION in Motion: How Autonomous Vehicles Learn to Anticipate Cyclists
How does an autonomous vehicle "think along" when cyclists are on the road? We first introduced our research project INTENTION a while ago and now the work has reached an exciting new milestone. At our latest project meeting, theory met the road: our development platform demonstrated live what it can already do today.
