Driving Automated Mobility Forward: FDTech Welcomes Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen for Strategic Exchange

We were pleased to welcome representatives of Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH earlier this week to our FDTech headquarters in Chemnitz. The meeting originated from our encounter at the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWE) Regional Policy Annual Conference, where concepts such as the PIX Moving RoboBus and RoboShop were first discussed.
Automated Driving Beyond People Moving
Building on this exchange, we jointly took a deeper look at our current activities within CADA - Chemnitz Automated Driving Alliance, particularly our collaboration with staff-eye GmbH. The discussion clearly highlighted that automated driving should not be reduced to people moving alone. Its value unfolds across a wide range of real-world applications - including industry, agriculture, logistics, retail, and especially last-mile and rural supply concepts, where automated driving solutions can make a tangible difference.
FDTech's Role as Technological Integrator
From FDTech's perspective, our role is clear: FDTech acts as the technological integrator of the automated driving system, providing the necessary algorithmic enhancements and software intelligence. Together with PIX Moving as vehicle platform partner and staff-eye as system integrator and orchestrator of end-to-end use cases, we are able to implement complete, operational automated mobility solutions.
The Importance of Enabling Frameworks
At the same time, the exchange underlined how critical enabling frameworks are. Institutions such as Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen play a key role as an interface to state and federal levels - particularly when it comes to network coverage, approval processes, and route authorisations. While we can deliver technology and systems, these boundary conditions are essential to bring solutions safely and legally into real operation.
Strong Signals of Support
We presented our plans for this year and experienced strong interest as well as clear signals of support from WFS. We share a common understanding: automated driving must be brought into application and made tangible. Only through real deployments in real environments do potentials become visible and scalable.
We are grateful for the constructive support of institutions such as Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH, IHK Chemnitz and AMZ - Netzwerk Automobilzulieferer Sachsen, and we look forward to continuing this path together - turning automated mobility from concept into experience.
