SAM Symposium 2026: FDTech Connects Industry and Academia in Automotive & Mobility

Where do industry and academia meet to shape the future of mobility? For FDTech, one key answer is the SAM Symposium in Zwickau. This year, we joined leading experts to discuss everything from innovative development processes to the technological, legal, and infrastructure challenges of autonomous driving. Here's our recap.
For the ninth time, the SAM Symposium in Zwickau served as the central platform for exchange between industry and academia in the field of automotive and mobility.
CADA – Chemnitz Automated Driving Alliance, together with FDTech GmbH and staff-eye GmbH, engaged in dialogue with leading experts and discussed forward-looking topics ranging from innovative development processes to new mobility concepts.
Exciting presentations on the topic of mobility were given by:
- Prof. Dr. Matthias Richter – Chairman of the Board and Scientific Director of FTZ e.V., Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau
- Torsten Kunz – Amt für Wirtschaftsförderung (Stadtverwaltung Zwickau)
- Matthias Müller – former Chairman of the Board of the Volkswagen Group
- Stephan Berlitz – Head of Lighting Development at AUDI AG
- Dr. Mario Kuschel – Head of Research and Development at CAC ENGINEERING GMBH
Sarah Schubert, Felicia Kollinger-Walter, and Sydygaly Sagynbaev were particularly delighted that Matthias Müller and Prof. Matthias Richter took the time to speak with us at our booth about the technological, legal, and infrastructure-related hurdles of autonomous driving.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Siegfried Bülow, the former head of Porsche Leipzig GmbH and honorary professor at HTWK Leipzig – Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Kultur Leipzig, who was another high-profile discussion partner.
We would like to thank everyone involved for this special exchange event, right in the heart of Zwickau.
